Keeping Tabs on the Dodgers as Exhibition Games Begin
And still no contract extension for Dave Roberts.
The Dodgers have more reason to be cheerful than most clubs. They were the game’s best team in 2024, as evidenced by their rather easy World Series triumph over the flawed New York Yankees, they were the best team in baseball in November, December and January as they signed every free agent they wanted to, and they are the best team now. The smiles on their faces, and the good vibrations you see if you are paying close attention, are not manufactured. The players expect to win, and they seem to genuinely enjoy each other’s company.

The Boys in Blue play their March 18/19 Tokyo Series opponents, the Cubs, Thursday at Camelback Ranch, at12:05 p.m. Pacific Time. And again Friday at Mesa, also at 12:05. We have indeed made it through the winter.
