Tony Gonsolin Place on IL, Dennis Santana Recalled
IL placement back-dated to April 1, shoulder inflammation sidelines right-hander.

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled right-handed pitcher Dennis Santana and placed right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation, backdated to April 1.
Santana, 24, is entering his fourth season with the Dodgers after going 1-2 with a 5.29 ERA (10 ER/17.0 IP) in 12 games last season. In parts of four seasons with the Boys in Blue, he is a combined 2-2 with a 6.66 ERA (19 ER/25.2 IP) and 28 strikeouts. The Dominican Republic native made his Major League debut at Coors Field on June 1, 2018, tossing 3.2 innings to record his first career victory.
Gonsolin, 26, made the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career on Thursday after going 2-2 with a 2.31 ERA (12 ER/46.2 IP) and 46 strikeouts in nine games (eight starts) for the Dodgers in 2020. The Vallejo, CA native has been with the Dodgers parts of two seasons and is 6-4 with a 2.60 ERA (25 ERA/86.2 IP) and 83 strikeouts in 20 games (14 starts). He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the ninth round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft by the Dodgers out of Saint Mary’s College.
